Acquisition and Aristocrat Interactive
In May 2023, it was proposed that NeoGames would be acquired by Aristocrat Leisure Limited. The acquisition was completed in April 2024, combining the operations of NeoGames and Anaxi under a single, integrated business known as Aristocrat Interactive.
Due to this move, Aristocrat Interactive has 2,100 team members based in more than 10 countries, more than 440 priority game titles, and has become the number one iLottery provider in the USA.
That said, the NeoGames game portfolio prior to the acquisition is still branded as NeoGames across many providers and platforms.
Aspire Global Issues
You may have heard of Aspire Global, and not for the right reasons. This brand is a subsidiary of NeoGames, which was subjected to a review by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) a few years ago. As this was in the press quite a bit (and still is in the UK), it would be remiss of me not to address these issues.
As a result of the review, the UKGC fined Aspire Global in 2025, who were ordered to pay a sufficient sum towards social responsibility causes.
Of course, NeoGames' links to Aspire Global could be understandably concerning.
NeoGames Rebuilt Trust
Since then, NeoGames has gone on to receive accreditation from the World Lottery Association (WLA) and European Lottery (EL). It is also accredited and regulated separately by the UKGC, with no issues being flagged.
In addition, due diligence will of course, have been done by Aristocrat Interactive during their acquisition. Indeed, Aristocrat fosters a "three-pillared approach to Responsible Gameplay, based on compliance, empowerment, and continuous improvement," by "working with industry, government, regulators, and others," according to their website.
This is all very reassuring, and learning the steps taken after the subsidiary's highly publicized issues has done a lot to change my (admittedly initially prejudicial) opinion on the NeoGames game portfolio.
NeoSphere Platform
One of the key developments by NeoGames is the NeoSphere platform. This platform provides comprehensive turnkey solutions to casino operators.
NeoGames Slot Games to Get You Started
Whilst the NeoGames game portfolio might be disappointing to those experienced in playing online slots, they do have quite a few diverse beginner-friendly games that can be played for free on this page. A couple of my favorites are:
Now, Treetop Treasures might be labeled as a NeoGames slot, but it actually plays more like a slot-cum-lottery hybrid. It even has some scratch game features. As the name suggests, you're looking to reveal the treasures hidden in the treetops, be it prizes, bonuses, or activating the Fruit Fall bonus.
Again, Fruity Cubes has elements of lottery and slot games. The game uses 100 symbols, and you're looking to match three or more consecutive symbols, as well as look for hidden star symbols. The star symbol provides awards and bonuses, whilst random wins, multipliers, and a Fruit Squeeze bonus can be triggered at any time.
You might also try unique NeoGames game offerings such as:
- Poker King
- Darts
- Alfredo
- Postcards
- Sampo
- Roulette Pro
- Starlight Dazzle
- Zodiac
In Conclusion
Overall, the NeoGames slot portfolio is not as good as some other developers, particularly one that has been around for two decades. That said, the blend of lottery and scratch elements, along with unique casino games, does provide an interesting selection. I'd say the NeoGames game portfolio is a good choice for beginners to slot gaming.
