Gamesys Honest Review
Gamesys was founded in the UK in 2001 by Andrew Dixon, Robin Tombs, and Noel Hayden. The company produces slots and bingo games and operates online casinos, including Virgin Games.
Gamesys was acquired by the American gaming giant Bally's Corporation in March 2021 for $2.7 billion, giving the British provider access to the lucrative US market.

Gamesys Slots - Special Features
Gamesys makes Las Vegas-inspired slots. They take inspiration from the gaming floor of Bally’s 19 casinos, which are dotted around the US. Gamesys slots feature 2D symbols and classic themes like Ancient Egypt and animals.
The British provider is known for its branded slots, including Deal or No Deal, The Godfather, and Monopoly. Gamesys is one of the few developers with the budget to sign licensing deals for branded games.
Another thing I like about Gamesys slots is the progressive jackpots. With these huge communal prize pools, you can win over $1 million from a single $0.10 spin.
Even though Gamesys is more of an old-school provider, especially compared to these new developers popping up in Northern and Eastern Europe, it still leverages modern mechanics. For example, Secrets of Phoenix has my all-time favorite feature, cascading reels.
Every time you form a winning combination, the symbols tumble from the grid, and new ones take their place. If the new symbols create another win, the tumbling sequence repeats all over again. Another cool feature is sticky wilds, which stay on the reels, helping to hit extra wins. In Guardians of Fire and Ice, the wilds freeze and won’t budge until you land two wins!
What Are My Favorite Gamesys Slots?
I’ve been playing Gamesys slots for over a decade and am very familiar with the provider. Not all games are worth your time. In my opinion, the best Gamesys slots are:
- Guardians of Fire and Ice - If you feel like going on a fantastical adventure and tapping into your inner superhero, then I recommend Guardians of Fire and Ice. The cascading reels, combined with the sticky wilds, give you a great shot at the 50,000x max multiplier.
- Secrets of the Phoenix - Secrets of the Phoenix has a very cool setting, high above the clouds, where you’ll find Mayan cities perched on top of rock formations that are floating in the air. If the scenery doesn’t catch your eye, the cascading reels will. I managed to set off seven cascades in a row for a mega win!
- Winstones - This is another branded slot from Gamesys, this time taking inspiration from the Flintstones. Winstones takes you on a Stone Age adventure where scatters can dish out up to 20 free spins and multipliers as high as 5x. This game doesn’t offer many fancy features, but the wild and lovely desert backdrop makes it worth playing.
- Valley of the Kings - Gamesys knows how to make a legit Ancient Egypt-themed slot. Valley of the Kings will have you raiding tombs and dodging the mummy’s curse. Apart from the impressive Egyptian symbols and temple setting, I really liked the 50 available paylines, which give you so many more opportunities to win compared to your typical slot.
Gamesys Slots - Legit or Not?
I personally prefer modern video slots with detailed storylines, 3D symbols, and interactive features. However, Gamesys are definitely worth playing if you enjoy Vegas-style slots and branded games.
Gamesys slots transport you to the casino floor with their flat symbols, classic controls, and familiar themes. Despite the retro feel of many titles, they still offer great win potential, particularly Gamesys’ progressive jackpot slots. Also, many games come with cascading reels, my all-time favorite mechanic!
